We are now a no-smoking airline system-wide

We have progressively introduced no-smoking rules on many of all flights since 1992, when flights to Singapore and Australia became smoke-free in line with the strong anti-smoking policies of those countries. Gulf Air has conducted extensive surveys of all passengers, an overwhelming majority of whom indicated that they were against smoking on board an aircraft.

Gulf Air was one of the first carriers in the Middle East to introduce the concept of no smoking on board its intra-Gulf flights. As an airline which is committed to customer welfare the company supports resolutions by the World Health Organization and the Ministries of Health in the Gulf Cooperation Council states to preserve, protect, and promote a healthy environment.

In 1994 Gulf Air was awarded a medal and certificate by the World health Organization in recognition of its no-smoking policy on selected routes.
